""Insight meditation is the root of all Buddhist meditative practice, which is a process of radical transformation. The book I have written is an account of a journey in time and space through the initial stages of this process. Although its locale is the somewhat exotic landscape of Asian monasteries and meditation centers, peopled by wise and very powerful teachers, its real setting is internal. The journey, as I experienced it, was one of a constantly evolving understanding, but, in essence, a very simple experience. I can only call the book an adventure story.
