Summary

2022 will be dedicated to the museum's anniversary. 90 special stories about 90 exhibition objects show the challenges and approaches to the 90th birthday of the Diözesanmuseum Graz. Outstanding works alongside testimonies of simple faith make the meaning and challenge of church art visible. 90 objects create an arc of tension from the Middle Ages to the most recent present, from highly developed art to devotional objects charged with passion. What lies behind the surface of a work? Which certificate value justifies which conservation measures? What levels of meaning affect our quality of life today? - Accompanied by these questions, you will experience the special features of Styrian sacred art, discover its layers of meaning and be amazed by its beauty and creativity.
